I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member in good standing with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Your safety and well-being are at the heart of my work. BACP membership means my academic qualifications have been independently checked/verified. I have completed a recognised postgraduate BACP examination, and I work within a clear and robust ethical framework.
Welcome and thank you for visiting my website. Whether you are looking for in-person or remote online sessions (UK or internationally) I understand that taking the first step can be challenging, but please be reassured that I provide a compassionate, non-judgmental, and confidential safe space.
Although I support and have experience supporting all genders, I hold postgraduate specialist training in male-centred therapy, male psychology, biological insights into masculinity, male mental health, and suicide prevention. Having navigated my personal background and through years of training and working with clients, I am aware of the barriers men frequently meet in the mental health system.
My approach to therapy is integrative, drawing on a mix of methods to suit each person’s unique needs. At the same time, I base my support on a humanistic/person-centred approach. I also include elements of psychodynamic, solution-focused, and cognitive-behavioural therapy. Together, we will collaboratively explore your thoughts and feelings, look at past, present, and future goals, and develop practical ways to move forward.
Therapy takes into account the unique ways men can experience emotions, stress, and personal challenges, including the influence of biology and the protective coping patterns we all develop over time. By understanding these experiences, therapy aims to support men in a way that feels respectful, balanced, and genuinely supportive. This flexible approach welcomes and values different life experiences, cultures, and perspectives.
I aim to work alongside you with care, warmth, and understanding, creating a space where you can safely explore thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may be affecting your well-being. My experience includes supporting clients through depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, abuse, stress, sexuality, grief, and relationship or attachment difficulties. I also have advanced training in gender, sexual relationships, and diversity (GSRD).”
Where Life Meets Understanding
Through my training and experience, I have learned that every individual is unique. Each person has distinct childhood experiences and has been shaped by societal expectations, traumas, abuse, divorces, and other messages, which can sometimes hinder personal growth.
I have experience supporting men from many walks of life, including those working in the police, emergency services, military, legal profession, transport, manual trades, builders, construction workers, factory roles, company directors and office environments etc. Life pressures, burnout, and responsibilities can quietly build over time, something I understand from my background. That’s why I offer later opening hours, so men can access support that suit them.
Navigating Challenges and Finding temporary Escape
Some men carry struggles that feel difficult to talk about, including relationship difficulties, affairs, erectile disfunction, use of pornography, or experiences involving sex workers. These situations are often connected to deeper feelings, coping strategies, or ways of managing stress, loneliness, depression or emotional overwhelm. Whatever has brought you to seek support, you will be met with understanding, genuine empathy, warmth, compassion, and a holistic approach that values you as a whole person.
ONLINE/REMOTE THERAPY
Due to m own personal experiences, counselling & therapy is something I care deeply about, and the flexibility of online therapy has allowed me to offer support to people across the UK, EU, and Australia. I have experience supporting people online from different locations and backgrounds, and I aim to create the same sense of warmth, understanding, and connection whether sessions take place in-person or remotely.
